This guide gets you started with JxBrowser with two simple working examples of the applications based on Swing and JavaFX. The example projects are based on Gradle.

Prerequisites

Please make sure your system meets the software and hardware requirements.

Download the Examples

You will need a local copy of the examples code. Please use the following command to download the code from the JxBrowser Examples GitHub repository.

$ git clone https://github.com/TeamDev-IP/JxBrowser-Examples
$ cd JxBrowser-Examples

It will clone the whole repository, from which this guide will use two sub-projects.

Get License

To get a free 30-day evaluation license for JxBrowser please send us a request via this web form.

Upon request you will receive an email with a download link to evaluation license file — license.jar. Download the license.jar file and save it in the root of the JxBrowser-Examples directory. Now the directory should look like this:

Run the Swing Example

Use the following command:

$ ./gradlew quickstart-swing:run

It will build and start the HelloWorld application based on Swing. You will see the following window:

JxBrowser - Hello World

Run the JavaFX Example

Use the following command:

$ ./gradlew quickstart-javafx:run

It will build and start the HelloWorld application based on JavaFX. You will see the following window:

JxBrowser: JavaFX - Hello World
